Cathedral Concert Details
I am so excited to see you all at our upcoming Cathedral concert on March 12th! Here are some important details and updates
Where: CHANGE OF LOCATION: Due to some scheduling conflicts, we were unable to book the church for this year's performance. It will now be held at Mountain Vista High School
Who: All MRMS choir students are required to perform in this concert in order to earn a content knowledge grade.
*Please reach out to me ASAP if you anticipate that your student will not be able to make it to the concert. Students will need to complete a make up assignment and schedule a time to sing the music for me for up to full credit.
What: The cathedral concert is a classical- style choir concert where our singers get the chance to combine with the amazing Mountain Vista High School Choirs. We have been learning complex spiritual, sacred, and classical secular pieces of music to perform, and are so excited to show you what we've accomplished!
When: Tuesday March 12th. Students arrive at 5:30 at MVHS and meet in the auditorium. Doors open to the audience at 6:30 and concert begins at 7pm. This will be a full- length concert (1.5 hrs) since the high school will be singing.
What to Wear: Students need to wear formal concert attire for this performance which is "Dress Blacks". Dress blacks are nice black clothes and shoes that adhere to school dress code such as dresses, skirts, slacks, button up shirts, polos, sweaters, etc. Shoes and socks need to be ALL black. Jeans and leggings are not allowed unless they are under a dress or skirt. Black shoes with white rubber soles can be covered with black tape. Please let me know if you have a financial hardship and are unable to acquire these items.
Volunteers and Donations: We do not need any volunteers or concessions for THIS concert, but please keep your eyes peeled for ways to get involved with our pops concert!
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions at [email protected]. I also have info listed at MRMSchoir.weebly.com.
Thank you and can't wait to see you there!

FEEDER FESTIVAL DETAILS
Hi MRMS Choir Families!
As you know, Feeder Festival is THIS SATURDAY, November 11th! I am so excited for our students to get the chance to sing with the high schoolers, build relationships, and get the elementary students excited for choir in Middle School! This is always one of the highlights of our year in choir.
Here are some last minute details:
Who and What: All MRMS choir students will get the chance to have a talk back with the high school and elementary school choir students, ask questions, play games, perform for each other, and build relationships. This is a great way for our students to see what their future could look like if they decide to continue pursuing the performing arts in high school! There will be a pizza lunch provided, but if your student has any food allergies/ sensitivities, they can bring a sack lunch.
When and Where: Students will meet at MRMS at 8:45 am wearing their provided Feeder Fest Tee shirt and black pants. We will warm up together and walk over to MVHS as a group. Parents can start arriving at 12:00 and the concert will begin at 12:30 in the gym. The concert will likely be over before 1:30.
Please note that this is a mandatory graded performance for all students. If your student is not going to make it, please email me ASAP for the make up assignment.
Feel free to email me with any other questions at [email protected]
Thank you and I can't wait to see you there!

Welcome to Choir!
Here is the Syllabus for 2023-2024
Due to changes in enrollment and scheduling this year, we only have one choir class per semester. In order to produce full-length programs for parents and families, we will be making a couple changes to the concert lineup this year.
Semester 1 Performances
Feeder Festival- Feeder festival is a required performance this year and occurs on a Saturday in October. Students from all elementary schools in the area will join us at Mountain Vista HS to sing our repertoire for each other in order to build our feeder area choir program! The music will include world music and western music with an uplifting message. Families are welcome to come but are not expected to, as we will be singing all of this material again at our Winter concert.
Winter Concert- This will be a full length program held at Mountain Ridge for parents, families, friends, and community members. Students will perform all of their music from feeder festival as well as a selection of holiday and winter pieces- both old and new.
Semester 2 Performances
Cathedral Concert- This is a combined concert with Mountain Vista High School Choirs, located at the beautiful St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Our choir will perform a small selection of 2-4 songs with a spiritual/ classical theme, and our students will get a glimpse into their future as they watch all of the ensembles from MVHS perform.
Pops Concert- This will be a full length program held at Mountain Ridge for parents, families, friends, and community members. It will feature pieces of music from theater, film, television, and radio. Students will be challenged to come up with choreography, costumes, props, and other elements to bring the concert to life.
More details to come on each of these performances and how to get involved. I can't wait to see you all there!
